| Description: | "Buildings consume nearly a third of America's energy-much of it wasted by inefficient design-while land-use decisions influence another third used in transportation. Real-estate development therefore offers abundant opportunities for saving resources, not to mention reducing waste and restoring damaged land. The RMI/ENSAR Built Environment Team works to improve the efficiency of buildings and projects through consulting and research. RMI also publishes books, reports, and articles on green development and home resource efficiency for both professionals and consumers. Many of these publications are posted at this website. Additionally, RMI manages the Windstar Land Conservancy, a 957-acre tract containing vital wildlife habitat and wetlands, as a laboratory for demonstrating restorative land-management techniques. * RMI/ENSAR Built Environment Team- Information for Building and Real-Estate Professionals * Home Resource Efficiency- Information for Consumers |
