| Description: | "The Remarkable Ocean World, an educational web site dedicated to teaching and inspiring students to learn more about the world ocean, was launched in August 1996, as a web portal for oceanography students at Fullerton College. During its ten years on the web, The Remarkable Ocean World has served ocean-interested people worldwide. With the aim of updating and expanding the usefulness of the original site, ExploreWorldOcean was born. This site will continue its service to students and the ocean public. At the same time, it will support a new introductory oceanography textbook, Exploring the World Ocean, written by yours truly (Sean Chamberlin, PhD) and Tommy Dickey, PhD, at the University of California, Santa Barbara, to be published in February 2007, by McGraw-Hill Higher Education." |
