| Description: | The fusion process powers the sun and other stars. In a fusion reaction, light nuclei combine, or fuse, to form heavier nuclei. Through fusion reactions, mass energy is converted to kinetic energy as described by Einstein's formula, E = mc^2. This site uses Image-mapped charts and descriptive passages to teach the user about the fusion process. A guided tour through the site is available for beginners and newcomers that will acquaint them with the fundamental principles of fusion reactions. The following topic areas are focused: - Energy Sources and Conversion - Two Important Fusion Reactions - How Fusion Reactions Work - Creating the Conditions for Fusion - Plasmas- the Fourth State of Matter - Achieving Fusion Conditions This site also features links to other Fusion Energy resources on the World Wide Web. |
