Because hands on experience is an important supplement to classroom study, you are encouraged and helped to obtain summer positions in the oil industry through LSU Career Services after you are enrolled in petroleum engineering. The department's curriculum is based on fundamental studies in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and geology. For this reason you should prepare yourself in high school by taking several college preparatory mathematics and science courses." |
