| Description: | The Hewlett Foundation has provided grants to nine public colleges and universities in nine western states to fund programs to improve the quality of undergraduate education in engineering and to increase the number of engineering graduates. These institutions are committed to improving, or developing anew, programs to increase both the quality and quantity of engineering graduates, particularly at the undergraduate level. Six subcommittees of participant school representatives have been established to address specific issues and share insights on best practices. The subcommittees focus on assessment and outcomes, curriculum development, faculty development, sustainability, student recruitment, and student retention and graduation. The following institutions received awards: * Boise State University * Colorado School of Mines * Montana State University * New Mexico State University * Northern Arizona University * Oregon State University * University of Nevada Reno * University of Utah * University of Wyoming |
