The goal of the course is to provide mechanical engineers with a practical, working knowledge of modern sensor technologies. Although the course uses a textbook, there will be quite a few lectures, which will cover material beyond the scope of the book. The breadth of the material covered in this class and the rapid advancement in modern sensor technology make it difficult to find a single, all-inclusive and up-to-date textbook.
