| Description: | The software was developed to teach engineering design with simple machines to middle school students, and is intended for use in conjunction with the LEGO "Dacta Technic I" set. The module enables students to investigate the underlying scientific and mathematical properties of the "machines" and to integrate this knowledge to develop creative solutions to engineering design problems. The web environment includes all of the course materials such as the description of the class activities, the assignments, and information about simple machines and the design process. In addition, the web instructional module includes the use of student-controlled simulation and plotting applications for each machine. |
