Unplugged activities include full instructions and worksheets to minimize the effort required for class preparation. Background sections explain the significance of each activity to computer science, and answers are provided for all problems. All you need for most of these activities are curiousity and enthusiasm. The activities are primarily aimed at the five to twelve year-old age group, but they are by no means restricted to this age range: we've used them to teach older children and adults too, with little modification. Unplugged activities are available for free download from this site, or in two printed editions. The Teacher's edition book is intended for teachers at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels who would like to give their classes something a bit different from the standard fare. There is also the Original edition, which contains more technical detail for those with a background in computer science. |
