| Description: | "This workshop provided a forum for engineering educators and students as well as representatives from NGO?s, governmental agencies and international consultants to share information and exchange ideas regarding appropriate technology program and course development and/or the integration of appropriate, sustainable technology concepts into existing programs and courses. The challenges and benefits associated with providing experiential learning by implementing service-learning to reinforce these concepts were also discussed. Session topics included: university views on service-learning and appropriate technology from a programmatic, institutional and student perspective; viewing service-learning from the eyes of the various stakeholders; and current happenings in service-learning and appropriate technology course development." |
