| Description: | Models, Models Everywhere proposes utilizing HP Tablet PCs and modeling software to create experiential learning modules, effectively engaging students in environmental modeling. Environmental engineering encompasses the ubiquitous concerns for air and water quality, waste remediation and processes that affect all aspects of life. The appeal of environmental engineering extends to a diverse, regional and global population. This proposal creates environmental modeling curriculum that will further the role of the Boise State University civil engineering department as a regional leader in providing educational access to a student population rich in first-generation degree seekers and students of Hispanic descent. Curriculum redesign will be piloted in environmental engineering courses, where the mobile capability of the HP Tablet PCs will enhance student field work, and the visually interactive display will make it possible for faculty to teach modeling principles. |
