| Description: | Abstract: This paper examines and describes one approach for infusing technology into a social studies methods course for preservice teachers. This service learning project funded by a PT3 mini-grant involved preservice teachers in conducting inquiry research of local historic sites and then designing virtual field trips using Microsoft Power Point. This innovative way to use technology as a vehicle for developing and designing integrative curricula is appropriate for multiple grade levels and technological abilities. This experience in inquiry with technology infusion at the preservice level is expected to impact the teaching practices of these future teachers. |
