Each one makes work easier to do by providing some trade-off between the force applied and the distance over which the force is applied. The simple machines described and pictured on this site are "wheel and axle", "pulley systems", wedge, screw and lever. Other Elements of Machines that are a bit more complex orombined in new ways are also included. This sie has some of these more complex machine elements: gears, bevel gears, "rack and pinion, cam, "crank and rod", "chains and belts", and ratchet. |
